Paul Kendrick and Erno Rossi
teamed up inside the main
light to provide lectures
on the history of the lighthouses.
Artifacts and a slideshow
delighted the crowds.
Mr. Barry Westhouse is holding
a photo taken on July 1, 1957 at
the main light when he was 5
years old. He is pictured with his
grandfather William Bishop who
was the assistant keeper at the time.
Also in the photo is Barry's twin
brother,his sister, and grandmother.
Restoration work
in progress while
tours were being
conducted. Here Al is applying mortar
to cracks on the south
facing wall where the first set of stairs leads
up to the lantern room
in the main lighthouse.
John, one of our tour guides
on the far left, keeps a
careful watch on those
brave enough to climb
to the top of the main
lighthouse and take a
stroll on the catwalk.
