AUGUST 2013 LIGHTHOUSE TOURS DURING CANAL DAYS Thank you for supporting our efforts by coming out to see these iconic beacons!
We welcomed over 300 visitors to the lighthouses during our first summer of tours during Canal Days.
Visitors were ferried to the lighthouses and treated to a scenic boat ride by the competent crew of the Pocomar.
Visitors can marvel at the plethora of vessels that ply the waters of the Welland Canal and Lake Erie.
Visitors make their way down the 2000 foot long south branch breakwall to the outer light.
Visitors are greeted by one of our tour guides at the outer light just as an inbound laker approaches the entrance to the Welland Canal.
Oh how close this outbound laker appears as it passes by the inner light to the open waters of Lake Erie!
The Pocomar returns to the marina with a group of departing lighthouse visitors only to greet and board others waiting to embark on their journey out to the lights.
Isabelle Kendrick with her son Paul and granddaughters make a special visit to familiar territory. Thanks to the Kendricks for sharing memories of their time as keepers of the lights!
